The redesigned 2025 Ford Expedition just debuted early last month, ushering in a host of rather notable changes for the full-size mainstream market SUV, inside and out. As Ford Authority previously reported, 2025 Ford Expedition order banks opened up for U.S. customers on October 24th, 2024, with the first deliveries expected to begin in the spring of 2025 after production at the Kentucky Truck plant is currently scheduled to kick off on January 6th, 2025 (though that date is subject to change). Now, we’re learning that the updated SUV is also slated to go on sale in Mexico next year, too.
In Mexico, the 2025 Ford Expedition will be offered in both regular and extended-length Max configurations, in Active Max, Platinum, and Platinum Max guises. The Active Max comes equipped with the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which is rated to produce 400 horsepower and 480 pounds of torque, while the Platinum and Platinum Max come with the high-output version of that same powerplant, which generates 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet. In both cases, those engines are mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission.
Otherwise, the 2025 Ford Expedition heading to Mexico is essentially identical to the one that will be sold in the U.S. That means the entire lineup sports fresh styling both up front and in the rear, where one will find a nifty new feature called Ford Split Gate, which functions much like a regular tailgate on a pickup. The top three-quarters of the liftgate raises upward, while the lower portion folds down, and can support up to 500 pounds. The Split Gate also features a seatback as part of the optional Cargo Tailgate Manager, and can transform into a serving table, to boot. Unlike a lot of Blue Oval products, the new Expedition is retaining its factory-installed SecuriCode keyless entry keypad, too.
Inside the cabin, the biggest change present in the 2025 Ford Expedition is the addition of a new 24-inch panoramic display that doubles as the instrument cluster and is paired with an 13.2-inch center screen running the fairly new Ford Digital Experience software. Ford hasn’t yet announced pricing for the Mexican 2025 Expedition (though prices have increased for the U.S. version), but it’s slated to go on sale there in spring of 2025.
