In recent years, The Blue Oval has been deleting its factory-installed SecuriCode keyless entry keypad from multiple models, replacing it with a dealer-installed option. Thus far, this trend has impacted a large number of models within Ford’s lineup, much to the chagrin of folks who appreciate having the ability to unlock their vehicle without using a key or even a smartphone. Thus, it would be easy to assume that eventually, no Blue Oval models will come from the factory with a keyless entry keypad, but it seems as if the all-new 2025 Ford Expedition is an exception to that rule.
The 2025 Ford Expedition has in fact retained the factory SecuriCode keypad, which is actually standard on all trims, save for the Active. However, 2025 Ford Expedition Active buyers can get it as part of the optional 202A Active Touring Edition Equipment Group, which adds the keypad and a bevy of other equipment. That list includes things like Ford Co-Pilot360 Active 2.0, the panoramic vista roof, ActiveX seating, Intelligent Access, a wireless charging pad, a pair of 400W AC power outlets, the Flex Powered Console, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, power tilt and telescoping steering column, rain sensitive wipers, dual power-folding mirrors, and 20×8.5-inch Carbonized Gray aluminum wheels, all for a cost of $4,215.
This makes the 2025 Ford Expedition a bit of an exception to the rule, as a large number of Blue Oval models have ditched the factory SecuriCode keyless entry keypad as of late – a list that includes the 2025 Ford Ranger, the 2025 Ford F-150, the 2025 Ford Explorer, the 2025 Ford Super Duty, the 2024 Ford Maverick, and the 2024 Ford Escape.
Meanwhile, the redesigned 2025 Ford Expedition just debuted a little over a month ago spotting fresh styling, a split rear liftgate, and a completely revamped interior with a new 24-inch panoramic display that doubles as the instrument cluster and is paired with an 13.2-inch center screen. All of these changes come at a cost, however, as the 2025 Expedition is quite a bit pricier than the outgoing model.

its one of the main reasons i and alot of people buy fords,, for the keypad. this is a dumb idea. my dealership MUST throw this option in on the deal or i will look elsewhere.
I bought 5 Ford Lariat Super Duty’s, because I loved the outside keypad when my keys were not with me. I also loved the leather interior . I guess Ford I will lose me as a loyal customer.
