The 2025 Ford Expedition brings a host of changes and updates to the full-size SUV, breathing new life into the long-running nameplate. Unveiled in early October, the forthcoming Expedition is offered with the brand-new Tremor trim. Ford Authority takes a closer look at the Expedition Tremor today, outlining exactly what sets the off-road-focused trim apart from its touring brethren.
The 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor replaces the Timberline trim, taking the model’s slot in the lineup as the most off-road-ready vehicle in the Expedition line. It doesn’t hide behind a boring fascia by any means – in fact, it greets the world with a handful of striking Tremor Orange accents, including its fog light surrounds and tow hooks. It also features a blacked-out grille, lending a more sinister, aggressive expression to the SUV.
The Tremor Orange accents up front are carried through to its 18-inch Dark Carbonized Gray painted aluminum wheels, which feature Electric Spice pockets as a splash of color. Those wheels are wrapped in meaty P275/70R18E All-Terrain (A/T) BSW tires, ready to tackle slick situations right off the showroom floor. Meanwhile, a peek at the Expedition Tremor’s beltline reveals blacked-out trim around the windows.
Out back, the 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor features more dark accents, including its lower bumper and dark “Expedition” script across the vehicle’s liftgate. It also sports a black-and-silver Ford oval insignia, carrying the dark theme, quite literally, bumper-to-bumper.
Aside from the aesthetic upgrades, the Expedition Tremor includes quite a few performance upgrades compared to the other trims. This includes retuned suspension and steering, Raptor-inspired running boards, a tough front skid plate, off-road auxiliary lighting in the grille, and underbody protection for the front axle, transfer case, and gas tank. It also gets the 3.73 active locking differential.
It’s also a bit taller at 10.6 inches of ground clearance, and drivers can set the SUV up for just about anything by selecting Rock Crawl Mode, Trail Turn Assist, and Trail 1-Pedal. Under the hood, the Expedition Tremor harnesses the high-output twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which is tuned to deliver 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque.
Inside, the Expedition Tremor packs features like Ford Co-Pilot 360 Active 2.0, a Bang & Olufsen 10-speaker sound system with a subwoofer, multicolor interior ambient lighting, and heated seats for the front-row passenger. It also features orange accents throughout.
As previously reported by Ford Authority, the 2025 Ford Expedition will enter production at the Kentucky Truck plant on January 6th, 2025. Customers interested in the tough off-road-ready SUV should expect to shell out at least $83,025, including destination freight charges. In fact, the 2025 Expedition as a whole is quite a bit pricier than its 2024 model year predecessor.
