Following its debut in early February, the 2025 Ford Explorer entered production at the Chicago Assembly plant in May, after which deliveries began in the U.S. in early August. However, while the Explorer remains a popular choice for new vehicle shoppers in the states, that’s also the case in other parts of the world. As such, we’ve seen in the refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer launch in a number of global markets over the past couple of months, and now, we can add another one to that list – Korea.
The Explorer originally went on sale in Korea during its second-generation back in 1996, and it has remained a best-seller there ever since. Thus, it’s no surprise that the updated 2025 Ford Explorer just made its debut in that part of the world, though it won’t be offered in as many trims as it is in the U.S. Rather, Korean shoppers can choose between the ST-Line and Platinum trims (not the Active or ST), with the ST-Line making its debut there.
Otherwise, the 2025 Ford Explorer destined for Korea is essentially identical to the one sold in other parts of the world – including Mexico and the Middle East. Along with revised exterior styling, the biggest news lies inside the cabin, where customers will find a new 13.2-inch infotainment screen running the also-new Ford Digital Experience software, and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The Platinum trim gets the Active Motion massaging seats as well, which offer up memory functions, plus 10-position power adjustment for the driver and eight for the passenger, along with heating and ventilation.
In terms of powertrains, the 2025 Ford Explorer ST-Line in Korea is equipped with the turbocharged 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost engine, which generates 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, while the Platinum gets the more potent twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 EcoBoost making 400 horsepower and 410 pound-feet, each mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission.

I wonder if this one is assembled in China or Chicago.
