The 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E was treated to numerous updates compared to the 2024 model. While it’s not undergoing anything close to a midcycle refresh, it does gain some neat features like a new standard heat pump and the Sport Appearance Package for the Premium trim. Ford Authority observed that the 2025 Mustang Mach-E offers another advantage over the 2024 model, albeit a subtle one: it has more center console storage than its predecessor.
The 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E dropped the rotary dial shifter and replaced it with a monostable shifter. Specifically, the shifter, now in the form of a stalk rather than a rotary dial, was relocated to the steering column, freeing up some real estate on the electric crossover’s center console.
Ford designers got creative with the space left behind by the rotary dial. The buttons that activate the emergency flashers as well as the parking sensors, along with the parking brake switch, were moved to the left of their position in the 2024 Mustang Mach-E. The empty space beside them was turned into a compartment for storage where passengers in the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E can stash a phone and drink. In fact, the thin section in front would be a perfect place to stow a smartphone in the upright position, preventing it from sliding around while the electric crossover is in motion.
As Ford Authority previously reported, the 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E will be the first to get the new BlueCruise 1.5 update, which will gain the Automatic Lane Change feature in the future. However, the electric crossover ditches the MyKey feature, which allowed users to customize their vehicle keys to control various safety functions. It also loses its windshield wiper deicer.
Production of the 2025 Mustang Mach-E, which occurs at the Cuautitlan Assembly plant in Mexico, is scheduled to kick off on January 6th, 2025, as reported by Ford Authority. The updated electric crossover is slated to go on sale in early 2025, with a base price of $36,495, not including destination freight charges. That’s significantly more affordable than the current starting MSRP of $39,995 for the entry-level Select trim.

The overall storage capacity in the Mach E actually shrank substantially because they have nearly eliminated the Frunk space in order to accommodate the heat-pump.
Michael K you are so right. I had a 2021 MachE premium for 13 months until I couldn’t take all the problems I had. Had Fords for 40 years, now I have a Genesis GV70 gas and a Genesis GV60 Performance EV. Couldn’t be happier
Until you discover that Genesis has an iffy reliability record too. You sure know how to pick them.
