The 2025 Ford Ranger is a capable midsize pickup that affords buyers a middle ground between the compact Ford Maverick and the larger Ford F-150. Following a generational changeover for the 2024 model year, the 2025 Ranger isn’t subject to an major changes or updates, although its price point makes it a bit more expensive than the outgoing model. Ford Authority today explores the Lariat trim’s price, which, when properly equipped, costs approximately $53,000.
As Ford Authority previously reported, the 2025 Ford Ranger Lariat 4X4 has a base price of $47,265, not including the $1,595 destination freight charge (DFC). There are a few no-cost exterior color options on offer, but customers who want something a little flashier than the base color palette can choose Azure Gray Metallic Tri-Coat, which is the most expensive color at $995.
Under the hood, the 2025 Ranger packs the turbocharged 2.3L I4 EcoBoost engine as standard, but customers in search of a little more get-up-and-go can choose the twin-turbocharged 2.7L V6 EcoBoost for $2,195. Another mechanical upgrade is available in the form of the electronic-locking rear axle, which adds $420 to the pickup’s cost.
From there, there are a number of optional packages offered on the 2025 Ford Ranger, such as the $1,095 FX4 Off-Road Package, although buyers who want an aesthetic upgrade without shelling out for the FX4 package can choose the $895 Black Appearance Package, for example. There’s also the $825 Advanced Towing Package, a retractable tonneau cover for $2,200, and the optional SecuriCode keypad, just to name a few.
Opting for all of these pushes the price of the Ranger Lariat to $54,670, also accounting for the $1,595 DFC, which is no small change. It also puts it within striking distance of the range-topping Ranger Raptor, which starts at $55,720 not including DFC, although there are more options that can make the Lariat even more expensive than its high-performance brethren.
Production of the 2025 Ford Ranger at the Michigan Assembly plant is currently scheduled to begin on January 2nd, 2025.

And that is why I am buying a 23 F-150 Tremor, 9k miles and sunroof, with the 402 package for less. Ford has priced the Ranger way too high. It is NOT good value for the money. Not sure what they are thinking another opportunity that Ford is wasting. Yeah, build more electric garbage!
It’s definitely not a value, but neither is that 23 f150 raptor you’re buying.
