Some time after debuting in other global markets, the all-new, fully-redesigned Ford Ranger landed in the U.S. for the 2024 model year, an occasion that also marked the arrival of the high-performance Ranger Raptor in that same country for the very first time. Regardless, the 2025 Ford Ranger is set to bring about a few minor updates for the pickup in its latest generation, as Ford Authority has covered extensively in recent weeks. Now, we also know when production of the 2025 Ford Ranger is slated to begin, too.
According to sources familiar with the matter, 2025 Ford Ranger production at the Michigan Assembly plant is currently scheduled to begin on January 2nd, 2025, though as is always that case, that date is subject to change. Regardless, when 2025 Ford Ranger pickups do begin rolling out of MAP in the next couple of months, customers will notice that the model has been treated to a variety of updates for the new year – albeit nothing too terribly major.
Aside from these changes, the 2025 Ford Ranger is also gaining a new Black Appearance Package, as Ford Authority recently reported, which adds a host of darkened elements to the mid-size pickup. The 2025 Ranger has lost its factory-installed keyless entry keypad as well, which has been replaced by a dealer-installed version. The pickup is gaining three new exterior color options – Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Desert Sand, and Marsh Gray, though it’s also ditching Cactus Gray, Hot Pepper Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, and Iconic Silver Metallic.
These changes are capped off by some tweaks to the outgoing Chrome Appearance Package, which has been replaced by the new Chrome Accent Package, which features less shiny bits than before, while the FX4 Off-Road Package has been tweaked in a couple of minor ways as well. Finally, the 2025 Ford Ranger lineup has received some modest price increases for the new model year, too.
