Avalanche and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Tricoat are headed for the 2025 Ford Super Duty for the first time. However, the addition of these two new colors isn’t the only update to the color options for the heavy duty pickup range, which leaves two colors behind. That means that Iconic Silver Metallic and Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat have been slashed from the lineup.
Iconic Silver Metallic (production code JS) was a longstanding, zero-cost color option offered on all Super Duty trim levels. Its deletion leaves the 2025 Ford Super Duty without a “true” silver hue on offer, but Avalanche, which is a silvery off-white color, could be considered a suitable stand-in for Iconic Silver.
Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat (paint code D4) was an extra-cost option that added $495 to the overall cost of the pickup, much like its replacement, Ruby Red Metallic. It was offered on every trim level except for the base XL trim.
Aside from the aforementioned changes to its exterior color lineup, the 2025 Ford Super Duty doesn’t bring about many major changes and updates to its styling inside and out. However, its Sport Package has been replaced by the Black Appearance Package, and it features fewer chrome exterior elements than its predecessor to boot.
Additionally, the trim level lineup underwent a minor change. The Limited trim is no more, having been replaced by the 2025 Ford Super Duty Platinum Plus. Meanwhile, the Lariat trim gets new ActiveX seats inside. The heavy duty pickup line also loses certain SuperCab options, which won’t be offered moving forward. Finally, the heavy duty pickup gets standard V8 gasoline engines.
Production of the 2025 Ford Super Duty is handled at both the Kentucky Truck plant and Ohio Assembly plant. The start of regular production will commence on December 2nd, 2024, and January 21st, 2025, respectively. Pricing starts at $47,295 for the base 2025 Ford F-250 XL, including destination freight charges.

Iconic Silver has to stay. It’s a key color on Fseries.
