The refreshed 2025 Lincoln Aviator debuted early this year, after which it entered production at the Chicago Assembly plant in May – though shipments didn’t begin early August. As such, the updated luxurious crossover hasn’t been on sale very long at all, but we’re already beginning to see some updates coming as part of Job 2 production for the 2025 model year.  Now, that list continues to grow, as we’re learning about one particular feature that will be deleted as part of that changeover in the coming weeks.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the 2025 Lincoln Aviator will no longer offer rear door sunshades, which will be deleted for Job 2 models set to enter production on November 24th, 2024. Currently, these rear door sunshades are optional on the Reserve trim as part of the Luxury Package, which is standard on Black Label models. The Luxury Package includes the rear door sunshades at the moment, plus rear heated and ventilated seats, 30-way perfect position and Active Motion massage seats, and the 28-speaker Revel Ultimate 3D audio system.

In addition to this deletion, Job 2 2025 Lincoln Aviator production will also see the arrival of the new Moonbeam theme, which is designed to pay tribute to 10 years of Black Label in general, and as the name might suggest, it’s inspired by a lunar landscape. The new theme takes inspiration from space travel and the moon’s various textures and glow at night. One will find a new light green hue reminiscent of that glow, accented by dark green piping, along with light green perforated leather seating designed to look like a shooting star trail, a laser-engraved moon ash appliqué reminiscent of the moon’s surface, plus open pore khaya wood.

Additionally, as Ford Authority reported this past August, the 2025 Lincoln Aviator is getting an extended trial period for Lincoln Premium Connectivity, which is a part of the Connected Services plan. Lincoln Premium Connectivity adds select digital features to new Lincoln vehicles, including things like connected-built-in navigation, BlueCruise, Alexa Built-In, SiriusXM, and wi-fi hot spots, to name just a few. Previously, the Aviator came with a one-year trial for Lincoln Premium Connectivity, but now, it gets a four-year trial, plus four years of Google Maps built-in navigation, and four years of Alexa Built-In.

    • This is being driven by the bean counters. It helps save some money and help their quarterly earnings, but it sows the seed of their demise. They keep deleting what should be standard, and watch their sales plummet. It’s American management stupidity at its finest.

  • Who the Heck is running this company! I've been a customer for over 50 years and Ford is more lost by the minute. My latest Ford purchase was a 2023 Lincoln Aviator. It should of came with a tailgate sensor under the rear bumper and soft close doors, but those were deleted by Ford/Lincoln.... and now they're deleting rear door sunshades. Not too smart.... but hey, they got pretty colored interiors. P.S.: I love my 2023's Sun Shades!

  • Not to worry, you can get a nifty pair of sunshades off of Amazon- you know those ones that use suction cups to attach to the window- for about $10. Real classy for a $80,000 vehicle. Honestly, if I did not know better I would think these CEOs of the American car companies were intentionally trying to drive their respective organizations to oblivion.
