2025 Lincoln Aviator Recalled Over Rear Camera Issue

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2025 Lincoln Aviator models due to an issue with the rearview camera.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the rearview camera image may fail when the vehicle speed reaches 10 miles-per-hour or greater. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, “Rear Visibility.”

The hazards: the loss of the rearview camera image while in reverse can reduce the driver’s rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: rearview camera

Affected vehicles: select 2025 Lincoln Aviator models produced between July 18th, 2024, and July 26th, 2024.

Number of vehicles affected: 7

The fix: the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software will be updated through an over-the-air (OTA) update or by a dealer, free of charge.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on December 2nd, 2024. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24C34.
