2026 Cadillac Vistiq Debuts As Future Lincoln Aviator Rival

It wasn’t too terribly long ago that The Blue Oval was planning on building a pair of new all-electric three-row crossovers – rumored to be based on the existing ICE Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator – but those models were promptly canceled amid softening demand for EVs, and those vehicles will instead be replaced by hybrids. Meanwhile, the Explorer and Aviator just received a mid-cycle refresh for the 2025 model year, with production of both expected to continue for the foreseeable future. Both will continue to face their fair share of competition, including a new future Aviator rival – the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq.

While there won’t be an all-electric variant of the Aviator for now, it remains possible that we’ll see one in the future, but the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq continues GM’s expansion of its own EV lineup, regardless. The three-row Vistiq will replace the ICE-powered XT6 in Cadillac’s lineup, and it shares quite a few styling cues with some of its electrified lineup mates, such as the Escalade IQ. Size-wise, it’s longer than the XT6 but still quite a bit smaller than the Escalade IQ, and it will be offered in trim levels including Luxury, Sport, and Premium Luxury, plus a Platinum grade set to debut later on.

In terms of motivation, the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq utilizes a pair of electric motors that generate a combined 615 horsepower and 649 pound-feet of torque, delivering an estimated 0-60-mile-per-hour time of 3.7 seconds (with the Velocity Max drive mode activated) and up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity. The Vistiq is equipped with a 102 kWh battery pack that is expected to deliver 300 miles of range, though that figure hasn’t yet achieved EPA certification. The luxurious crossover touts bi-directional charging capability, and can add 79 miles of range in about 10 minutes using a DC fast charger.

All-wheel drive is standard across the lineup, while customers can opt for the semi-active Chassis Damping Control suspension setup or an optional air ride system. Inside the cabin, one will find a massive a 33-inch screen that contains both the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system, and is paired with an eight-inch screen that controls the HVAC system and other amenities. Production of the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq is currently slated to begin in early 2025, with pricing stating out at $78,790 for the entry-level Luxury trim.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  2. Disappointed that this will have the CCS charging port and not that NACS port. If this is a 2026 model, they should have planned better for the charging port and location, so that it would fit better with the Tesla superchargers.

Why sign a partnership with Tesla, but then continue to use the CCS ports and not think of the future and make your clients happier?
