Not too terribly long ago, Lincoln had plans to add a number of all-electric models to its lineup, but that’s no longer the focus of Ford’s luxury brand. Instead, it’s hoping to build on the success of the recently-redesigned Lincoln Nautilus, which has been a favorite of critics and shoppers since its launch, though the luxurious crossover is also facing a potential ban from the U.S. and perhaps even Canada, pending the outcome of proposed rules revolving around vehicles imported from China. In the meantime, the new 2026 Genesis GV70 Electrified has now debuted as an indirect rival to the Nautilus.
The 2026 Genesis GV70 was just unveiled as an updated ICE-powered rival to the Nautilus, but the 2026 Genesis GV70 Electrified adds a fresh all-electric alternative for customers interested in that sort of thing, too. It features the same sort of updates as its ICE counterpart, though it’s differentiated by a unique front grille and an updated charge port that uses an electric motor to open and close, coupled with built-in lighting and even a heating function to assist in cold weather climates.
The 2026 Genesis GV70 Electrified has made the switch from a Combined Charging Standard (CCS) port to the North American Charging Standard (NACS), though a CCS adapter is also included. The EV crossover is getting a larger, 84 kWh battery as part of its refresh – up from the outgoing model’s 77.4 kWh – which should help give it more than its predecessor’s 236 miles of EPA estimated range, though Genesis hasn’t announced any figures yet.
In terms of power, the refreshed 2026 Genesis GV70 Electrified still utilizes dual electric motors, though it’s unclear if it will offer more than the outgoing model’s 483 horsepower – though it’s worth noting that the gas versions are unchanged in that department. Otherwise, Genesis hasn’t yet announced pricing for any 2026 GV70 variant, nor any kind of exact launch date, but we should know more when we get closer to its current window of the first half of 2025.
