Custom 1969 Ford F-100 Could Blow The Doors Off A Raptor R: SEMA 2024

With the 2024 SEMA Show set to kick off next week, we’re already seeing a host of new, custom builds and various parts and accessories surface. That includes a bunch of them from The Blue Oval, which has already made some pretty major announcements regarding a bevy of new packages that it will sell to customers, all accompanied by a variety of cool custom builds. Now, FoMoCo is showing off another example of the latter – this 1969 Ford F-100.

This 1969 Ford F-100 – dubbed “Clyde” – was developed in partnership with mega Ford truck fan and purveyor of the YouTube channel Ford Era, Solomon Lunger. The concept behind this custom build was to create a tribute to the iconic F-100 model of this era, but bless it with the latest in terms of performance technology, creating what Ford calls the “pinnacle of classic form and function.”

Ford Performance Parts and Accessories managed to do precisely that by completely revamping this 1969 Ford F-100 and replacing its body panels with exposed carbon fiber pieces, after which it added custom forged wheels and a luxurious leather interior. The big news here, however, is what lies under the hood – Ford’s 5.2L V8 F-150 Raptor R crate engine, which in this case is fitted with a massive 3.8L Whipple supercharger, helping it crank out a whopping 900 projected horsepower and over 700 pound-feet of torque. Underneath, one will find a Porterbuilt Stage 2 coilover chassis from Fat Fender Garage to help get all the power to the ground, too.

Clyde, as it’s otherwise known, isn’t the first custom F-100 Ford has brought to the SEMA Show in recent years, however. Rather, back in 2021, it revealed the Eluminator concept, which was based on a 1978 Ford F-100 packing the automaker’s then-new all-electric crate motor. Consumer interest in Ford trucks from this era has skyrocketed in recent years, making now the perfect time for The Blue Oval to continue to showcase what’s possible in terms of custom builds, too.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
