Ford Amphitheater Nominated For Venue Of The Year

The Ford Amphitheater in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has caused quite the stir since it opened a few months. It’s an impressive venue, but it’s also been the subject of controversy from the local community, who have raised concerns about the theater’s noise levels during concerts. Love it or hate it, the Ford Amphitheater has been nominated as one of the venues up for the 2025 Pollstar Awards.

The Pollstar Awards honor “the top tours, venues, live music executives, agencies, production companies, and more” in over 40 distinct categories. The Ford Amphitheater is up for New Concert Venue of the Year in North America, competing against the Brooklyn Paramount in Brooklyn, New York; the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California; The Backyard in Sacramento, California; Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, Missouri; and the Vibrant Music Hall in Waukee, Iowa.

Nominations for the Pollstar Awards are submitted by a committee of agents, promoters, managers, producers, production professionals, venues representatives, Pollstar Boxoffice reporters, and other members of the touring industry.

“As the gold standard of honors for achievement in the global live entertainment business, the Pollstar Awards remain the most relevant, coveted, and career-affirming recognition for artists, venues and executives who bring the magic to fans,” said Ray Waddell, Chief Content Director of OVG Media & Conferences.

Votes can be cast on Pollstar’s website. Voting will close on December 6th, 2024, at 5 p.m. PST / 8 p.m. EST. Winners will be announced at the Pollstar Awards on February 19th during the Pollstar Live! Conference.

The city of Colorado Springs sided with Ford Amphitheater in the midst of its controversial opening, clearing the venue of any wrongdoing. However, the complaints haven’t stopped rolling in regarding noise levels, traffic, and litter around the surrounding area from concert goers. JW Roth, founder, chairman, and CEO of Venu – which owns Ford Amphitheater – said that he wants to “be a good neighbor” and play nice with the community.
