With car crashes happening every day (or minute, seemingly) in the U.S., it’s no surprise that we routinely come across our fair share of Ford-on-Ford accidents. Thanks to the rise of dash cams, we’re also seeing more and more of these types of crashes surface on the web, which in most cases are completely avoidable. Now, we have yet another to add to that ever-increasing and quite-somber list – this time, after a Ford Bronco driver abruptly changed lanes and smashed into a Ford Explorer.
In this video recently posted at Reddit, we get a front seat view of this particular accident via the car traveling behind the Explorer in the fast lane, which captured the whole thing on camera. Traffic is moving along just fine, with the Explorer gaining ground on the Ford Bronco, seemingly getting ready to pass it. However, there’s a slower-moving vehicle in front of the Bronco, and so, the driver puts on their turn signal and beings to move into the passing lane.
Problem is, by the time that happens, the Explorer is almost right next to the Bronco, but by the time the driver notices and applies the brakes, it’s a bit too late. The Ford Bronco proceeds to smash into the Explorer, which winds up performing something of an accidental PIT maneuver. The Bronco proceeds to turn sideways as its front end scrapes across the concrete median until both vehicles eventually come to a stop.

It’s unclear if this particular Ford Bronco is equipped with blind-spot monitoring or not – but if it was, the driver clearly ignored that warning. In any event, failing to check the other lane before moving over proved to be a costly mistake here. It also isn’t the first time we’ve seen a sixth-generation Ford Bronco involved in some sort of harrowing incident either – in recent months, we’ve witnessed one smashing into multiple cars as it sped down the highway, while the driver of another in Canada quite literally drove over a police car trying to escape the long arm of the law.
