The GMC Hummer EV Pickup (see running GMC Hummer EV Pickup sales), which includes sales of the Hummer EV SUV variant, took fourth place with 4,305 deliveries. Rounding out the list were the all-electric Chevy Silverado EV (see running Chevy Silverado EV sales) moving 1,995 units, and the all-new GMC Sierra EV (see running GMC Sierra EV sales) joining its corporate sibling this quarter for 387 deliveries.

The Ford Authority Take
Though Ford F-150 Lightning sales were in the green this quarter, this was also the case for most every other EV truck here. The Blue Oval’s pickup fell to third place in the rankings after leading this nascent but growing space at the beginning of the year. During that same period, the Tesla Cybertruck launched to steal the show the following quarter, and the Rivian R1T gained traction to now command the top spot, just as the GMC Sierra EV enters the fray and Chevy launches more affordable versions of its Silverado EV.
The Blue Oval recently hit the pause button on F-150 Lightning production, as the Ford Rouge Electric Vehicle Center will be idled from November and into the new year amid slower-than-expected demand. In fact, things have cooled so much for the all-electric pickup that the 2024 Ford F-150 Lightning program will now pay dealers to use Retail Replenishment Centers (RRC) to help move inventory.
About Ford F-150 Lightning
The Ford F-150 Lightning is the battery electric version of the best-selling F-150 full-size pickup truck. For the 2024 model year, the Ford F-150 Lightning drops two configurations, while adding a new Flash trim level to be positioned above the XLT trim as an option that bundles tech upgrades and the extended range battery at a more reasonable price. On the other end of the spectrum, The Blue Oval debuted the Platinum Black trim for the F-150 Lightning, becoming the first production Ford truck to feature a matte wrap.
The 2024 F-150 Lightning also gains ActiveX seating for the Lariat trim, and the entire 2024 lineup gets a heat pump as standard equpment, while dropping Active Park Assist 2.0.
At the beginning of the year, the Ford F-150 Lightning Switchgear debuted as a new demonstrator of a performance off-roading EV pickup that channels the spirit of the Raptor.

But Lightning is the only non-monoblock and commercially focused, and its sales are much more guaranteed to be maintained!
Will Ford follow the same path as its rivals in the next generation by offering only unibody? I think it would be a differentiator for her to offer both solutions, as each one is focused and does not offer what the other can offer vocationally!
Or you could leave the unibody to Lincoln, focusing on ride comfort and luxury, leaving the commercial to Lightning!
An F150 Lightning with 600 to 700 miles range (even in cold weather), fast charging (80% in 15-20 minutes) and a 6 1/2 foot bed would interest me greatly. That would take care of occasional trips across Missouri to see my kids and whatever else I would normally do with it. Towing would take a hit but I don’t do much of that anymore.
It’s time for the f250, f350 and more BEVs! Politicians don’t keep Ford going, customers do, so give them the electric vehicles they need.
