Ford Transit Connect Lineup Wins 2025 Best CPO Value Award

The Ford Transit Connect – like many Blue Oval models – has performed quite well in Vincentric’s Best CPO (certified pre-owned) Value in America Awards in recent years, as both the passenger van (wagon) and cargo van (commercial) variants of that model topped their respective classes in 2022, 2023, and 2024. Now, the 2025 version of the Vincentric Best CPO Value in America Awards has been revealed, and once again, the (now-discontinued and long gone) Ford Transit Connect lineup has taken home its fair share of hardware.

A front three quarters view of the 2021 Ford Transit Connect Passenger Van.

For starters, the Ford Transit Connect took home a win in the Small Commercial Passenger Van segment, beating out two other competitors by presenting customers with the lowest fuel costs and operating costs in its class, as well as ownership costs that were 0.8 percent lower than expected levels. The Transit Connect also topped the Small Commercial Cargo Van space, beating out two rivals with the lowest operating and fuel costs, along with ownership costs that were one percent below expected levels.

The Ford Transit Connect is one of several Blue Oval models to secure segment wins in the 2025 Vincentric Best CPO Value in America awards, as the Ford F-250 Super Duty brought home a victory in the full-size 3/4 ton pickup space, the Ford Maverick Hybrid topped the small/mid-size pickup segment, the Ford Expedition won the Large SUV class, and the Ford F-150 Lightning took home top honors in the full-size half-ton pickup space.

To come up with this data, Vincentric measures the cost of ownership of a variety of used models via eight different cost factors – depreciation, fees & taxes, financing, fuel, insurance, maintenance, opportunity cost, and repairs. Using a statistical model, winners were identified by measuring which vehicles had lower than expected ownership costs given their market segment and price. Each vehicle was evaluated in all 50 states plus Washington D.C. using a range of annual mileage intervals and insurance profiles with the assumption that each would be driven 15,000 miles annually over five years.

“Vehicle cost of ownership is important to our customers,” said Jim Baumbick, vice president, Ford Product Development Operations and Quality. “Earning Vincentric’s CPO Value Awards for our trucks, vans, and SUVs is a testament to our engineers and their dedication to designing durable, cost-effective vehicles that help minimize operating costs to help hold their value over time.”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. I’m always shocked when I read this type of article. Our 2021 Transit Connect lost two of its OEM tires to sidewall bulges, the Android Auto only worked about 30% of the time, the body had visible spot welds showing through the paint, had more recalls than oil changes at one point and the windshield seal leaked like a sieve. The last one was fixed under warranty. We sold it with less than 20k miles. I think we’re done with Fords.
