Most Expensive 2025 Ford Explorer Has $65K Price Tag

Like many of its brethren this year, the 2025 Ford Explorer was treated to a substantial midcycle refresh, including new exterior and interior styling, plus plenty of all-new options and packages. And just like many of its Blue Oval siblings, that midcycle refresh comes at a premium, meaning the new 2025 Explorer is a bit more expensive than the 2024 model year crossover it replaced. While there are definitely trim levels in the lineup for the more cost-conscious buyer, Ford Authority is checking out the priciest model in the Explorer stable, which runs over $65,000.

As the range-topping model, the 2025 Ford Explorer ST is, unsurprisingly, the most expensive one that can be bought. In fact, before it was even launched, The Blue Oval raised the price of the ST trim, tacking on $300 for rear-wheel-drive (RWD) models and bringing the cost to $55,505, while all-wheel-drive (AWD) examples got a $1,995 increase to $59,200, not including destination freight charges.

Let’s zero in on the Explorer ST AWD. There are two no-cost color options, but the priciest color, Star White Metallic Tri-Coat, runs $795. The Explorer ST features quite a few packages as standard that don’t add to its overall cost, but customers can opt for the Sun and Sound Package, which adds a premium sound system and Panoramic Vista Roof for $2,995. Tacking on the Black-painted roof for a slick duotone paint scheme increases the price even more, adding $4,895 to the 2025 Ford Explorer ST.

All of those choices bring the net price of the 2025 Ford Explorer ST to $67,235, including destination freight charges. Of course, depending on customer preference, the cost can far exceed that figure – say, by adding the Safe Deposit Console Vault for $420, the SecuriCode keyless entry pad for $455, or the Ford Performance hood graphic for $330, just to name a few.

However, there are some ways customers can slash the price of the 2025 Ford Explorer by checking out lease and incentive offers, although these are limited to certain trims in certain markets.

The 2025 Explorer entered production at the Chicago Assembly plant in May and began landing at dealers a few months later after rigorous quality checks.
