Ty Majeski, driver of the No. 98 NASCAR Ford F-150, is the sole racer carrying The Blue Oval’s banner in the Truck Series Playoffs this year. However, he was recently fined for missing the mandatory Championship 4 media day before the final race at Phoenix this weekend. It turns out he had a good reason for his absence – he was out casting his vote.
Majeski was named as one of the drivers who was penalized in this week’s penalty report from NASCAR.com. He was fined $12,500 for failing to perform a media obligation and did not appear at the Championship 4 media day, which was scheduled for November 5th, 2024.
At the time of the media event, Majeski posted a photo on social media sporting an “I Voted” sticker with the caption, “Big week this week, but it starts TODAY. Go vote!”

At this time, Majeski and his NASCAR Ford team, Thorsport Racing, have not indicated if they will attempt to fight the fine. It does not affect his Championship 4 appearance, and has no effect on his Playoffs point standings.
Majeski raced his way into the 2024 Playoffs by winning back-to-back races at Indianapolis Raceway Park in June, then followed it up with a victory at Richmond just one week later. So far this season, he has nine top five finishes, 13 top 10 finishes, six stage wins, and has led 468 laps.
The championship-deciding race at Phoenix Raceway is scheduled for Friday, November 8th, 2024, at 8 p.m. EST. Majeski will race alongside championship hopefuls Grant Enfinger, driver of the No. 9 Chevy Silverado RST; Chrisian Eckes, driver of the No. 19 Silverado; and Corey Heim, driver of the No. 11 Toyota TRD Tundra. Regardless of who wins, they will be a first-time Truck Series champion.
However, Majeski’s record at Phoenix in the division isn’t all that great. While he has an average starting position of 5.0, his average finish in three Truck Series starts is 15.0.

Guy was fulfilling his obligation, much more important than this .
Illegal fine. All employers are required to give you time off to vote on election day. They don’t have to pay you, but they have to give you the time. I don’t think NASCAR qualifies as an employer here, but the concept remains the same. The event should have been scheduled for a different day. Fight, fight, fight the fine!
I think NASCAR needs to take a long hard look at their rules getting fined for voting in the elections is the most unpatriotic thing ever
NOT a good look for NASCAR.
