Poll: Is The 2024 Lincoln Nautilus Better Looking Than The 2023

When it comes to vehicle refreshes or redesigns, we here at Ford Authority like to touch base with our readers to find out what you think of the new models. Some, like the 2025 Ford Maverick, seem to be polarizing, while the refreshed 2025 Lincoln Navigator is scoring points with the masses. Now that the all-new 2024 Lincoln Nautilus has been out for a little while, we’re curious – do you think the 2024 Nautilus is an upgrade over the 2023 model year?

Updated 2024 Lincoln Nautilus

Debuting in April 2023, the revitalized Nautilus features an all-out redesign, packing an updated exterior and an overhauled interior fitted with the best-of-the-best in tech. The 2024 Nautilus, which began shipping to dealers earlier this year, features a fresh face with slim LED headlights connected by a coast-to-coast lightbar that runs across the 3D front grille. This design deviates from the 2023 model, which features a two-tiered lighting element with a separate horizontal lighting strip affixed below the headlights, creating a somewhat disjointed look.

Viewing the two models in profile reveals some key differences. The 2023 Lincoln Nautilus is more upright than its 2024 model year counterpart, with a prominent rear spoiler jutting out above the rear glass. The 2024 Nautilus, meanwhile, is more streamlined than the 2023 model with a slimmer silhouette.

Out back, the two models share a similar coast-to-coast taillight that runs the length of the liftgate. However, the 2024 Nautilus features a downward curve to its rear lights, while the 2023 model sports a bit of an upward angle instead. Both models feature quadrilateral exhaust outlets integrated into the rear fascia; the 2024 has a slimmer design while the 2023 has a wider set.

Inside, the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus gets overhauled interior styling, including a massive coast-to-coast display screen paired with a 11.1-inch center screen inside the cabin, BlueCruise 1.2, extensive ambient lighting, a host of digital scents, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, a new Lincoln Embrace design, the ability to receive over-the-air software updates, and 5G network capability. Comparatively, the 2023 model features a 13.2-inch display screen for infotainment duties.

With all the updates, we want to know what you think – is the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus a welcome upgrade to the luxury crossover, or was the 2023 model better in every way? Vote in the poll below and drop us a line in the comments with your thoughts.

  1. They main thing is how many times the 2024 heads to the service department VS the 2023 which has been very reliable.

  2. So much more could’ve been achieved with a 2.3L or 2.7L EcoBoost option.

  3. I own a ’21 Nautilus. I like the new exterior—it’s sleek and modern—but I prefer the interior of mine. While I don’t have a problem with the coast-to-coast screen, I want a traditional interior.

Unrelated: I do wonder what happens in the future. Now that Lincoln is doing this huge screen in all their vehicles, is there ever a time they reduce this and put out a traditional interior again? And does going back to that cost them sales? I guess time will tell.

  4. The new design interior and exterior plus the hybrid option is what sold me on the 2024 Nautilus. My wife has a 2021 Corsair which is nice but the 2023 Nautilus just looked like a larger Corsair. I switched from a 2021 Jaguar F-Pace and much prefer my Nautilus!

  5. 2024 exterior looks better! But I wish it had the buttons of the 2023. Using a touchscreen to control the HVAC is dumb. This would have been a good opportunity for Lincoln to implement a retro interior design.

  7. The 24 is made in China. Stop buying vehicles made there.

  8. The dash on the new one is total overkill and kills it for me.

    1. I traded in my 2021 Nautilus for a 2024, and I can promise you that there’s no overkill on the dash.

In no time at all, you get used to it, and it isn’t distracting at all.

The 2024 looks better inside and out.

  10. I like both generation interiors and recognize the new instrument panel is a game changer ( displays are higher… can better keep eyes on the road). I despise the new exterior… far too much black… too little chrome.

  11. I like the 23 model year- it’s not made in China.

  12. I have a 2022 Nautalis which I love and will buy it out when the lease is up. I had a 2024 Nautalis as a loaner. While the appearance of the car is quite nice, they’ve taken away the little things. For example, you have to take your eyes off the road and use a touch screen to simply close or open a vent. I didn’t like the oval steering wheel. I’m sorry, but sometimes a cirle simply cannot be improved. There are no markings on the steering wheel controls. Lincoln should take a lesson from Apple. Apple is adding buttons and ports to their phones and computers while the old focus was to get rid of everything and only use a touch scree. Focus more on function instead of form. With the massive screens, you can’t even pull up a tachometer unless you are in a certain drive mode. (Sport mode I think)… Still a great car, but it’s time to be more thoughtful on function and ease of use, I shouldn’t have to take my eyes off the road for these simple things.

  13. I love the 2024 all the way around. The interior is very futuristic and I love it. Love it enough that I bought a new reserve hybrid and it is great! 30 miles to the gallon, quiet, and with more than enough pep. A great car!!!!

  14. I have a 2024 Nautilus & love everything about it except the 11 inch info screen. It is very difficult to see during the day, especially in bright sunshine. No tactile feel for the controls so it can be difficult to change settings. At night, no problem seeing the controls but they can still be somewhat tricky. Other than that, am very happy with my choice.

  15. I was actually behind a 2024 the other day and wasn’t sure what it was until I got close but I loved the back end as I approached it.
Once I saw what it was I moved over one lane so I could see it from the side and that is one beautiful automobile. Ford you should be proud.

  16. The exterior style of the ’23 is by far superior, but interior on the ’24 is big improvement plus the comfort level is much better! The seats on the ’23 & prior were poorly designed & uncomfortable. The over-all quality of 23 & prior was very suspect for a Lincoln! The exterior style of the 23 & prior was & still is the best of all manufactures to date!!

  17. Things I miss from my 2019; a softer ride, a radio and cruise control that work all the time.
The 6 cylinder engine, the welcome chimes, the cornering lamps, cup holders in the doors. A/C vents that you can adjust without using the app, steering wheel controls that are labeled. With that, the design of the 24 is cooler and the dash is next level.

  18. I have a ’22 Black Label Nautilus and it does feel and look more substantial, but in the way that older cars generally look less refined and cluttered. But that design minimalism on ’24 Nautilus can come off bland, especially in dark colors. I’m no longer bothered by the Chinese assembly, if anything I’m developing an appreciation for Chinese assembly quality after a nearly flawless launch. I haven’t seen a Ford launch go this smoothly in decades.
