Well Preserved 1997 Lincoln Town Car Up For Auction

The Lincoln Town Car is one of many luxurious sedans that no longer exist, including many from that particular brand, which transitioned to an all-crossover/SUV lineup years ago. Though it may no longer be sold new, there are plenty of nice, gently used Lincoln Town Car models available on the collector car circuit, however, and we’re starting to see even more as time passes and folks realize that we may never see that model make a comeback. Now, this 1997 Lincoln Town Car joins that list as another suitable target for those in the market.

This 1997 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series is currently up for auction at Bring a Trailer with 70k miles on the clock, of which the current owner has added around 30k since they purchased it in 2018. There have been a few paint touchups performed to the Light Prairie Tan Clearcoat Metallic exterior, but otherwise, one would be hard-pressed to tell that this sedan has traveled that far, because it’s in pretty stellar condition. The chrome 16-inch wheels shine like they were just plated from the factory, too.

There is some wear present inside the cabin, as one might expect, particularly on the steering wheel and the Prairie Tan leather driver’s side portion of the seating. Otherwise, this Lincoln Town Car is well equipped with power-adjustable front seats, a trunk-mounted CD changer, a cassette stereo, a keyless entry pad, cruise control, and automatic climate control. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which was factory-rated to send 190 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.

For those that may prefer something with a bit less mileage and wear, we’ve seen plenty of other stellar Lincoln Town Car models from this generation surface for sale recently, too. That list includes a pair of other 1997 models – one with 14k miles on the clock, and another with 62k
