1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV Wall Art Up For Auction

Vehicles are sculptures meant to be enjoyed in motion, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be admired after they’re retired from the roads, either. Some artists take pieces of vehicles and turn them into wall art that long outlasts its roadworthiness, like a Fox Body Ford Mustang front end that went up for sale last year. Another neat wall art piece is currently being auctioned off, and it’s the perfect centerpiece for fans of the 1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV.

Offered on Bring a Trailer, the sculpture was constructed from the donor vehicle before the seller acquired it in 2011. It features the grille, chrome bumper, headlights, and portions of the hood and fenders taken from the 1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV. It’s finished in red paint that compliments its chrome implements, like its egg crate grille, a Lincoln hood ornament, stacked headlights, gilded Continental badging, and a display stand that supports the freestanding sculpture.

It’s a genuine piece, not a replica, and features stacked quadruple headlights, along with lights integrated in its chrome bumper. The entire ensemble measures approximately 82 inches wide by 27 inches tall and 36 inches deep, and it’s quite heavy at 150 pounds.

The seller notes that it retains all wiring out of the back of the headlights. However, they are not wired for a wall plug, but someone with electrical work experience could find a way to bring it back to life. The seller also states that the Lincoln Continental wall piece has been on display in an open area of their office for the past 12  years.

Interested buyers can pick the piece up themselves in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, but it can also be palleted for LTL shipping. It’s heavy, but can be moved around on a furniture dolly. At the time of this writing, the high bid sits at $2,650, and the auction will be open through December 11th, 2024.
