1996 Ford Bronco With 240K Miles Up For Auction

Over the past several years, we’ve watched as the prices of older Ford Bronco models skyrocket to new heights in a major way. That trend was previously reserved for the first-generation of Ford’s rugged SUV, but quickly spread to subsequent models as well – all the way up through the 1990s, which is when the Bronco was discontinued, only to return for the 2021 model year and a sixth-generation. However, this 1996 Ford Bronco has a few more miles on the clock than what we typically come across, which should make for an interesting case study.

This 1996 Ford Bronco – which is up for auction at Hagerty – has 240k miles on the odometer, in fact, and it has a few imperfections to boot – including some paint chips, scratches, rust bubbles, surface rust underneath and on the roof, and some discoloration. It was purchased new and subsequently sold to its second owner – an executive at the SugarCreek Collection – who proceeded to drive it until 2009, at which point it was restored and added to that collection. However, it’s been driven quite a bit since then, which is why it has some wear and tear today.

Now, this 1996 Ford Bronco is up for grabs along with a few other models from the SugarCreek Collection, which is a private group of vehicles located in southeastern Ohio that are supported by an in-house restoration and maintenance shop. It isn’t entirely stock, as the Bronco sports AMP Research power steps, a K&N intake, a JVC radio, and some aftermarket wheels, and it’s powered by Ford’s naturally-aspirated 351 V8, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

Despite its modifications and higher mileage total, we have no doubt that this 1996 Ford Bronco will command interest at auction, given what we’ve seen in the past. Other, lower-mile examples have sold for big bucks, such as a pair of other 1996 Broncos we’ve seen recently – including one with 5k miles, as well as another with 13k miles.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
