Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus crossovers over a window pinching issue. The 2024 Nautilus was previously recalled for that same problem back in August, too.
The defect: in affected vehicles, the window automatic reversal system may not react correctly after detecting an obstruction, and the window reversal distance does not meet the minimum requirement. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, “Power-Operated Window Systems.”
The hazards: a closing window may exert excessive force by pinching a driver or passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.
Components: power windows
Affected vehicles: select 2024-2025 Lincoln Nautilus models built at the Changan Ford Hangzhou Assembly Plant that are equipped with the recalled Driver Door Module (DDM) and Passenger Door Module (PDM) introduced into production on September 26th, 2022 and taken out of production on November 21st, 2024.
Number of vehicles affected: 47,818
The fix: dealers will recalibrate the driver door module and the passenger door module, free of charge.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on January 13th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 24C43.
