The “STX” moniker made its first appearance as part of the Ford F-150 options list for the 2023 model year when it was introduced as an optional aesthetic appearance package. For the 2024 model year, when the the F-150 itself underwent a midcycle refresh – the STX transitioned from a package to a standalone trim level. Today, Ford Authority looks at what the 2024 F-150 STX trim includes, and how it differs from its former status as an optional package.
The 2024 Ford F-150 STX trim is positioned above the base XL trim. It includes all of that trim’s standard equipment, plus some extras that set it apart from a visual standpoint. That includes a front and rear bumper that are painted body color, paired with a black and dark gray coast-to-coast grille. The fender vents, meanwhile, are the most surefire giveaway that you’re looking at a 2024 Ford F-150 STX – they feature lime green accents for a point of visual interest.
The STX trim also gets a set of 18-inch Gloss Black wheels wrapped in BSW All-Season tires right from the factory. Though not standard, the STX trim can be fitted with the STX Black Appearance Package, which fits the pickup with accents such as running boards, 20-inch Gloss Black wheels, black exterior badging, and a gray “STX” box side decal for $1,585.
Beyond exterior aesthetic upgrades, the 2024 Ford F-150 STX features an electronic rear-window defroster, along with rear privacy glass. Inside, the trim gets color-coordinated carpeting with carpeted floor mats, as well as unique front seats. Said seats feature Unique Sport cloth with manual lumbar adjustment on the driver’s side, along with seatback map pockets.
Prior to becoming its own trim level, the STX Appearance Package was exclusively offered on XL trimmed models for $2,585. It bundled much of the same equipment as the 2024 F-150 STX trim, with the exception of the grille. In the package’s instance, the included grille was a molded-in color black honeycomb style grille with a body-color surround. It also didn’t feature lime accented fender badges.
Under the hood, the 2024 Ford F-150 STX features the twin-turbocharged 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine as standard, although the naturally aspirated 5.0L Coyote V8 is offered as an extra-cost upgrade. Drivetrain options include either rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or four-wheel-drive (4WD), but regardless, power is routed via the 10-speed automatic transmission.
The F-150 STX continues to be offered for the 2025 model year, starting at $44,605, including destination freight charges.
