2024 NASCAR Ford Champs Drop By Dearborn To Celebrate Blue Oval

NASCAR Ford drivers Joey Logano and Ty Majeski, the 2024 Cup and Truck Series champions, along with the 2024 Formula Drift champion James Deane, were treated like Blue Oval royalty when they visited Dearborn for the Ford Championship Celebration.  All three drivers celebrated their historic victories with Ford employees and got an exclusive look at the automaker’s hometown operations.

The Ford Championship Celebration was held at the revamped Michigan Central Station in December and documented by Ford Performance on social media. The Blue Oval calls the historic building its home for EVs, and invited Logano, Deane, and Majeski to check it out in person while connecting with the people who make Ford what it is.

“You can just feel the history just walking up to it,” says Majeski, who drove the No. 98 NASCAR Ford F-150 to the championship this season. “Looking at the before and after pictures… unreal how far it’s come.”

After visiting with Ford personnel in Michigan Central Station, the drivers were invited to check out the Ford Mustang GTD, which is the first American car to lay down a record-breaking lap at Germany’s Nürburgring.

“I’m just having a blast,” Deane, driver of the Formula Drift-winning Mustang RTR, said. “Next stop is probably going to be my favorite. We get to check out the Mustang GTD, and I’m just having a really good time. Really proud and honored to be here.”

When they weren’t checking out vehicles like the Mustang GTD and the Mustang Dark Horse, Logano, Majeski, and Deane spent time signing autographs for Ford employees and posing for pictures. Speaking of the Mustang Dark Horse, while the Cup Series season started off slow for the all-new racer, things picked up about a third of the way in, culminating with Logano putting the No. 22 NASCAR Ford Mustang in Victory Lane at Phoenix to win the championship.

It’s a championship tradition to visit Dearborn. Logano, who last won the championship in 2022, dropped by Ford’s hometown to celebrate his victory alongside fellow NASCAR Ford driver Zane Smith a few years ago.
