As Ford Authority reported roughly one month ago, The Blue Oval recently informed workers at the Michigan Assembly plant that it planned to scale back 2025 Ford Bronco production amid slowing demand for the rugged SUV. MAP will be idle for two weeks in January to prepare for the 2025 model year changeover, while 400 workers will be relocated to either the Dearborn Engine plant or Monroe Parts Depot, though the automaker will retain three shifts, regardless. These moves will be made in Q1 2025, and no workers will be laid off as a result. Now, the start of 2025 Ford Bronco and Ford Ranger production at MAP has been delayed by nearly two weeks as a result of those decisions.
According to sources familiar with the matter, 2025 Ford Bronco and Ranger production is now slated to begin on January 25th, 2025, rather than January 13th, 2025, as originally planned. As is always the case, this new date is also subject to change, however, as we’ve seen many times in the past.
As Ford Authority reported last month, slowing Ford Bronco sales and rising inventory hasn’t caused any concern among Blue Oval dealers, at least, who instead see this dip as a normalizing in terms of supply and demand after many customers waited years to take delivery of their new SUV when it launched in 2021. In November, Ford Bronco sales increased by 254.52 percent to 10,320 units year-over-year, but are down just over two percent year-to-date – from 99,184 units last year to 97,105 through November 2024. As for the Ranger, it’s actually up by over 27 percent this year through 11 months – 40,949 units vs 32,162 over the same time frame.
This lull in demand is also likely a driving force behind Ford’s decision not to raise Bronco prices for the 2025 model year, which is a rarity in today’s automotive world, where we’ve seen most models get more expensive with each passing year – and in some cases, even receive multiple price increases throughout a single model year, too.

I ordered a 2.7 Ranger XLT in early May and still waiting. My order has been moved over to 2025 and still waiting for a production date. Hopefully this 2 week delay will help me.
