The 2025 Ford Explorer was just treated to a refresh for the new model year, one ripe with changes inside and out. Along with the typical updated front and rear fascias, the refreshed Explorer also gets a few notable revisions inside the cabin, such as a redesigned dash containing a larger infotainment screen running the new Ford Digital Experience software. Now, the high-performance 2025 Ford Explorer ST, specifically, is getting another change as part of its Job 2 production update.
The 2025 Ford Explorer ST has gained the Sun and Sound Package as part of Job 2 production, which applies to all models built on or after November 25th, 2024. That package adds a host of notable features such as the 14-speaker B&O sound system with a subwoofer, multicountour seats with Active Motion in the front, and the Panoramic Vista Roof with Power Shade, all for an extra cost of $2,995.
In addition to this update, the 2025 Ford Explorer also regained the SecuriCode keyless entry keypad as part of Job 2 production, as Ford Authority recently reported, which is a $455 option and is available on all trim levels. Previously, the 2025 Ford Explorer switched to the dealer-installed Illuminated Door Entry Keypad, which cost $350 and could be added when the crossover is delivered, or afterward, if so desired.
Additionally, the 2025 Ford Explorer Platinum models just gained two new 21-inch wheel options as part of the Job 2 production update – Bright Machined aluminum units with Tarnish Dark pockets, which are available as a standalone option for $725, and 21-inch Dark Alloy painted machined aluminum wheels included in the $4,615 Ultimate Package, which is exclusive to the Platinum trim. Finally, the 2025 Ford Explorer lineup dropped Iconic Silver Metallic as an exterior color option as well, leaving six hues for customers to choose from – Star White Metallic Tri-Coat, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Agate Black Metallic, Oxford White (fleet only), and Vapor Blue Metallic.
