The 2025 Ford Explorer represents a significant update for the crossover, including the range-topping ST trim. The Explorer ST features quite a few notable upgrades compared to other models in the lineup, and Ford Authority is taking a closer look at what the sporty 2025 Ford Explorer ST has to offer in the following photo gallery.
This particular 2025 Ford Explorer ST is painted in Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, which is a $495 color choice for the crossover – just like Vapor Blue Metallic, which Ford Authority highlighted previously. That scarlet exterior color pairs well with the crossover’s unique black grille with a black mesh insert, a unique feature included on the ST trim. It also gets standard LED headlights, along with wide lower intakes, and, of course, a red “ST” badge affixed to the grille.
A look at the 2025 Ford Explorer ST in profile reveals a set of 21-inch Magnetite painted aluminum wheels wrapped in 21-inch BSW all-season tires. Meanwhile, it also sports a handful of black exterior elements, including glossy sideview mirror caps and skid plates in both the front and the rear, along with door sill scuff plates emblazoned with the Ford Performance logo.
Out back, the 2025 Ford Explorer ST features quad chrome exhaust tips and a red ST badge on the tailgate. Other notable upgrades include the twin-turbocharged 3.0L EcoBoost V6, fed by the 20.2-gallon fuel tank, and its sport-tuned suspension, all of which make it a spirited, sporty crossover.
Inside, the Explorer ST dazzles its passengers standard ambient lighting, along with special interior finishes, like the ebony colored headliner and overhead console. The front row features Explorer branded floor mats, while sport captain’s chairs are situated in the front row, sporting the ST logo stitched in. The seats are heated and ventilated up front, while second-row passengers can take advantage of rear heated seats as well. Even the steering wheel is heated and emblazoned with the ST logo.
The 2025 Ford Explorer ST also offers Ford BlueCruise, and buyers of the crossover get a 90-day free trial of the advanced driver assist feature. Rain-sensing wipers are also standard. Certain models also get the Sun and Sound Package, which was recently added as part of Job 2 production, and it’s one of the few Blue Oval vehicles to feature the factory SecuriCode keypad. Pricing for the ST trim starts at $56,550 including destination freight charges.
