There are plenty of changes on the way to the 2025 Ford Maverick, from an updated face to an overhauled cockpit and plethora of new technologies. That includes a class-exclusive suite of towing technologies designed to make hauling with the compact pickup even easier. Below, Ford Authority outlines just what that entails.
The 2025 Ford Maverick now features a 13.2-inch infotainment display running The Blue Oval’s Sync 4 system. That very setup allows the Maverick to benefit from Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, an optional extra available for the compact pickup. Pro Trailer Hitch Assist helps to “take the frustration out of hitching a trailer,” as Ford itself puts it, utilizing the rear camera and infotainment screen, along with corner radars, to align the hitch with the trailer coupler. This feature also controls the pickup’s speed, steering, and braking to stop it at exactly the right place.
The 2025 Ford Maverick can also be fitted with Pro Trailer Backup Assist. Once a trailer is hitched up, this feature streamlines the process of backing up a trailer “as easy as turning a knob” to get the trailer pointed in the right direction while backing up.
Both Pro Trailer Backup Assist and Pro Trailer Hitch Assist will be introduced to the 2025 Ford Maverick in Feburary, as first reported by Ford Authority. FoMoCo says that they’re critical additions to the popular compact pickup because almost half of all Maverick owners use it to tow. Both features are standard on the Lariat and Tremor trims, and optional on the all-new Lobo trim. And nothing like either feature can be found on the sole rival to the Maverick, the Hyundai Santa Cruz, making them exclusive to The Blue Oval’s offering.
Furthermore, the 2025 Ford Maverick can be fitted with the optional 4K Tow Package, a $745 extra offered on the compact pickup that adds handy towing features like a trailer brake controller, transmission oil cooler, upgraded cooling fan, and more. It’s just one of quite a few optional packages offered on the Maverick.
The 2025 Ford Maverick starts at $26,295, excluding the $1,595 for destination and delivery, making it significantly more expensive than the outgoing model.

“updated face”? I think you meant a deformed face but were too nice to admit it. Glad I got my ’22 Mav before this disease got a hold of it. Think it’s called young engineer egoism
