2025 Ford Mustang V8 Lineup Gets Fresh Set Of Price Hikes

As Ford Authority reported roughly one month ago, 5.0L Coyote V8-powered 2025 Ford Mustang models were treated to a significant price increase for the pony car’s second year of its seventh generation. In fact, the regular GT and GT Premium got $2,700 pricier, while the Dark Horse and Dark Horse Premium rose by $2,745 and $3,745, respectively. By comparison, almost all EcoBoost models received a more modest $100 price increase, meaning that V8 fans certainly got the proverbial shaft here. Trouble is, 2025 Ford Mustang V8 prices have increased yet again.

A side view of the 2025 Ford Mustang GT 60th Anniversary Package.

2025 Ford Mustang Prices

Dark Horse Premium $69,375 $68,375 +$1000
Destination $1,595 $1,595 $0

These changes were first noticed via a dealer bulletin recently seen by CarsDirect, and while 2025 Ford Mustang EcoBoost models remain the same in terms of pricing, their V8 counterparts weren’t quite so lucky. Rather, the V8 pony car has been treated to a $1,000 price increase across the board, which means that the cheapest of the bunch – the GT – now starts out at $46,560, while the cheapest Dark Horse will set one back at least $64,380.

These price changes have already taken effect, and CarsDirect also points out that the prices of certain packages have increased as well. The GT Performance Package is $150 more expensive than before, coming in at $5,445, while the Bronze Appearance Package has gone up by $100 to $1,195. Those that want to choose their own brake caliper color will be paying an extra $150, too.

Entering just its second year since undergoing a comprehensive redesign, the 2025 Ford Mustang isn’t receiving too many changes. That list includes the deletion of four exterior color options (though it’s gaining two new ones), while dual-zone climate control is now standard across the lineup, and the pony car is gaining the new 60th Anniversary Package (with a Brittany Blue option) – though EcoBoost models are losing the High Performance Package.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. Appalling and disgusting. The unchecked arrogance just marches on and on. Maybe an economic collapse under The Dumpster wouldn’t be so bad.

    1. As long as there are people that keep spending the money they’re asking, the more they’ll ask. Welcome to capitalism.

    2. Stupid thought wishing for a recession, so Ford lowers its prices. Yes there idiots for raising prices when sales will slow even more. Any recession will be due to 4 years of hyperinflation, open border, unaffordable housing, vote for me I’ll pay your college loan, Chinese spy balloon now drones, sued AZ for its border wall, work permits for illegals, Afghanistan debacle and more.

      1. Jonny………. when is Dicky Trump going to lower gas prices? Now the fool says that he may not be able to lower grocery prices. More lies by the King of Liars.

        1. Trump already lowered gas prices when he took office in 2017. Well if you put two and two together you would realize that the cost of food has gone up under the invalid-in-chief because it cost a lot more to truck it to the stores.

        3. Trump won’t lower prices, the “drill baby drill” mantra would shoot the US oil industry in the foot and create a glut and drop the price of oil below what is profitable for the industry. OPEC would certainly respond by lowering production to offset the increased US production so the net effect would be no real change since crude oil is a global commodity (Trump’s sycophants seem to think for some reason the US is excluded from the global economy – maybe Trump does to, but his handlers are certainly aware of it).

The other problem of course is that most if not all of the oil that comes from the US cannot be easily refined by our refineries (our refineries are mostly setup for oil coming from OPEC because it is some of the cheapest oil on the planet) and why the US exports a lot of oil. In order to take advantage of local crude production the US would need to invest in new refineries which is incredibly expensive and if the US is counterproductively trying to create an oil glut to lower prices to appease voters, then new refineries go out the window without substantial investment from the government (which would supposedly piss Musk and Ramaswamy off – unless of course they stand to gain from that somehow).

  2. If people want this Mustang they will pay whatever Ford asks. Yea, go in the hole for 7-10 years with financing. No end in sight.

  3. Someone needs to pay for the huge losses that Ford takes on every EV it sells. My guess is that this will eventually hurt sales.

  4. Pretty bad considering my 2022 F350 Superduty 4X4 with $9,000 worth of options was $7,500 cheaper than the base Dark Horse!!

  5. Geeze, with some of these models you can put another 7 to 8 k out and get a Corvette. $50k for a Mustang GT? They’re crazy.

  6. It’s unbelievable that these automakers just keep raising prices until the sales eventually slow significantly (I assume they will). I can’t believe the Dark Horse Premium is priced above a base Corvette Stingray. There’s no comparison in my mind.

  7. These idiots are still blaming president Biden for the inflation, but those same idiots don’t want to admit how we got here in the first place! During dumb Donald’s first term in office, over a million people died, I wonder how many would die under his second term? If you don’t like the prices, don’t buy the products.
