Adrien Fourmaux Ditches M-Sport Ford For Hyundai Motorsport

Accomplished rally driver Adrien Fourmaux has spent the last four seasons in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) behind the wheel of a Blue Oval machine fielded by M-Sport Ford, but he won’t return to drive a Ford Puma Rally1 in 2025. Fourmaux will still compete in the WRC next season, but when he does, it will be in a race car fielded by Hyundai Motorsport.

Hyundai Motorsport broke the news on December 5th, 2024, just two weeks after Fourmaux pulled off a podium finish for M-Sport Ford at Rally Japan. The French rally racer first joined M-Sport in 2019, wheeling a Fiesta R5 in the WRC2 division, finishing second. He stepped up to drive a Fiesta Rally2 in 2020, earning his first major victory at the Rally Islas Canarias in the season’s final round.

In 2021, Fourmaux earned his first stage win at Safari Rally Kenya, paving the way for his first fulltime season in the Rally1 division in 2022, pairing with Alexandre Coria as his codriver. Fourmaux took a step back in 2023 to compete in the British Rally Championship, where he earned five wins in his M-Sport Ford Fiesta Rally2 and walked away with the overall championship title. He competed concurrently in the WRC2, winning the RC2 category in Central Europe and finishing second in Rally Finland.

The 2024 WRC season saw Fourmaux back in Rally1 competition. He rounded out the season with 11 stage wins and podiums on every surface – asphalt, gravel, and snow.

“It has been an absolute pleasure to work with Adrien and Alex over the last few years. It has been especially rewarding to watch and see their development over the last two years, growing into true professional athletes,” said Richard Millner, M-Sport Ford Team Principal, in a team release.

Fourmaux said he’s thankful for his experience with The Blue Oval, stating, “I came to M-Sport at the end of 2018 as a really young driver taking care of the new Rally2 as a mechanic, and ending up now with victories and a podium in all classifications. I’ve learned so much with the team.”

Fourmaux will begin his relationship with Hyundai Motorsport immediately after the Monza Rally Show, which will conclude on December 8th. Coria will continue as his codriver with his new team. At this time, M-Sport Ford has not announced its driver lineup for 2025.
