Competitive Sales Comparison (USA)
With 2,995 deliveries, Ford E-Transit sales place it in the middle of its competitors during Q3 2024.
Rivian led the electric vans space with its EDV/Delivery 700 and EDV/Delivery 500 models combining for 5K sales to account for 61 percent of all segment volume. The all-electric Chevy BrightDrop vans, namely the Zevo 600 and Zevo 400, cumulatively moved 246 units this quarter.

FoMoCo currently offers three EVs on sale, with the Ford E-Transit cargo van joined by the F-150 Lightning full-size pickup truck and Ford Mustang Mach-E crossover. Mustang Mach-E sales led with 57 percent of all sales, followed by the F-150 Lightning and the E-Transit.

Overall, the full-size electric van segment expanded 187 percent to 8,201 units during Q3 2024, driven primarily by Rivian.
The Ford Authority Take
The Ford E-Transit competes in a fledgling segment, one that is dominated by the Rivian EDV vans, which were at first available only to Amazon, but have since them become available to other customers.
Ford’s crosstown rival, GM, moved its all-electric BrightDrop vans under the Chevy brand, which may help it sell more units in the future. Additionally, the 2024 Ram ProMaster EV debuted as an all-new Ford E-Transit rival that’s scheduled to launch in 2025.
For its part, The Blue Oval is already working on a second-generation Ford E-Transit, which will roll out of Ohio in 2026.
