Ford Expedition Driver Treats SUV Like A Raptor: Video

It’s generally a bad idea to try to rally any vehicle on public roads – that is, put the pedal to the metal and rip around in traffic, not only because you’re putting fellow motorists at risk, but could deal serious damage to your own vehicle as well. One Ford Expedition owner clearly didn’t get the memo. The full-size SUV stars in a recent viral video, and not for a good reason. Its driver jumped it in a way that would have been more appropriate had it been a Raptor-trimmed model.

The video surfaced on social media, circulated by an accounted aptly titled That’ll Buff Out. The driver of the Ford Expedition guns the SUV heading into an intersection that’s slightly sloped at the apex, creating the perfect (or so it seems) site for a sick jump. It goes about as well as expected, though. The Expedition goes airborne before slamming down onto its front axle first.

The Expedition is clearly not equipped to handle the maneuver and noses down hard into the pavement, sustaining what we can only speculate is some serious damage to its front bumper cover, judging by the way it flexes out of shape. The tires get jammed up inside the fenders, too, and we can’t imagine that’s very good for the suspension, either.

No jump would be complete without hammering the back end of the vehicle. The Ford Expedition gets the same treatment for its rear axle, flexing the suspension to its absolute limit as the rear fascia contacts the pavement, too. The SUV rebounds back into the air as it continues down the road, bucking like a bronco (the horse, not the SUV, which probably would have done much better in a similar situation) before it bounces of out view. And, comically, the video is scored with House of Pain’s “Jump Around,” which is more than appropriate for the subject matter.

The Ford Expedition Raptor doesn’t exist (yet), but the refreshed 2025 Ford Expedition now offers the off-road-focused Tremor trim, which probably would have been a better choice for the questionable maneuver.

  1. No doubt either a rental or stolen. It’s why the rest of us have to work harder for nice things. What a tool.
