The Ford F-150 Hybrid has proven to be a bit of a trouble spot for the Blue Oval in recent years, with the automaker grappling with various issues that have impacted its performance and reliability. Consumer Reports dubbed it the least reliable vehicle in its 2022 rankings, and it was one of the publication’s least reliable vehicles in 2023. Unfortunately, the F-150 Hybrid hasn’t yet shaken that reputation, and has once again landed itself at the top of the list in 2024.
The latest CR reliability rankings put the Ford F-150 Hybrid as the least reliable vehicle its list. The model earned a reliability score of just seven points. It reached this verdict after examining 20 “potential trouble areas,” which range from minor inconveniences like squeaky brakes and broken interior trim pieces, to crippling problems like out-of-warranty engine, transmission, and EV problems. Vehicles included in its list must have at least two model years of data behind them, which CR gathers from 300,000 members and then grants a predicted reliability score on a 100-point scale.
The Ford F-150 Hybrid was dinged for its poorer than expected predicted reliability and low owner satisfaction, although it did perform well in its road test. That wasn’t enough to save the hybrid pickup’s rating, though, and CR points out that the model suffers from issues with its transmission, drive system, climate system, electrical accessories, in-car electronics, and its hybrid battery. The GMC Canyon, Chevy Colorado, and Rivian R1T took second and third place on the least reliable list.
The Blue Oval itself is aware of the problems affecting the F-150, and for its part, the automaker has been taking steps to remedy the situation. More stringent quality checks on the refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 saved the pickup from a potential 12 recalls, likely ensuring that it’s sending a better and more reliable product to the hands of its customers.
For reference, the Ford brand as a whole was ranked smack dab in the middle of 21 rivals when it came to 2024 predicted reliability ratings, earning 44 points.

WELL, It’s TRUE. I don’t own the HYBRID, but I do Own a 2022 F-150 that cost us nearly $90K. (Ya I Know, Hold the Phone). My Biggest complaint is (If I had to List One), Is the 10R80 Transmission! Mine’s been Replaced, and the New one now once again is having the Same Issues with the Shifting Problems???? # 2 would be FORD Motor Company Itself!!!! They Don’t seem to know who there Customers are???? And they BADLY NEED A NEW “IT” Person to Head the OTA UPDATE Department!!! My TRUCK Has the SAME LAUNCH BLUECRUISE SOFTWARE AND IT’S JUNK!!!! Ford “Steelerships” don’t know anything about it either??? THANKS F O R D!!!???…
I do have a hybrid F-150 LIMITED. as of 88K miles, it has performed much better that I would have thought with no drive train related issues. About the only thing I might agree on is the automatic climate control. It isn’t any worse than any other automatic climate control I’ve had in any other brand. The temperature you set (in degrees) is not necessarily what you get, but if you ignor the numbers and set what feels good, it will maintain it.
Other wise, 23 MPG, quick acceleration and a built in 7.2KW generator! Count me in (so far!).
