Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2023-2024 Ford F-150 Lightning pickups over an issue with the front upper control arm ball joint nut.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the front upper control arm ball joint nut may not have been tightened properly, allowing the front upper control arm to detach from the knuckle assembly.

The hazards: a detached control arm can cause a loss of vehicle steering and control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accidents or injuries related to this condition.

Components: front upper control arm ball joint nut

Affected vehicles: select 2023-2024 Ford F-150 Lightning pickups built between November 5th, 2023, and February 13th, 2024.

  1. Ford is starting to notify owners Feb.3, 2024 for vehicles built until Feb.13, 2024. They’re building these trucks for TEN DAYS after the recall notifications start???? And, this website is announcing it on Christmas Day, over ten months later???? Are you people just finding out about this now or are you purposely announcing it today to have the minimum number of people see the notification?
