Ford Mobile Service debuted in limited pilot markets a few years ago, but quickly gained steam as consumers gravitated toward the idea of having technicians come to their home or office to perform things like oil changes or other routine work. Thus, it was no surprise to learn that Ford Mobile Service (along with pickup and delivery) expanded across the entire U.S. in January 2023, not to mention certain other countries, too. As it turns out, Ford Mobile Service also continues to gain in terms of popularity among owners as well, according to The Blue Oval.
In its Q3 2024 earnings report, Ford noted that its fleet of mobile service vehicles have thus far enjoyed a massive increase in terms of usage – the automaker’s repair orders fulfilled by mobile service grew by 70 percent over that time frame, in fact, “underscoring the huge customer demand for digital and remote experiences,” FoMoCo stated.
As Ford Authority reported back in March, 2.4 million customers had taken advantage of these pickup and delivery plus mobile services at that time, which prompted The Blue Oval to expand its mobile fleet to around 3,500 vehicles. Around 375,000 customers are using these services each month, and they’ve proven particularly popular on the Lincoln side of the business, as one out of every five service experiences in 2024 thus far have taken place remotely.
With pickup and delivery, customers can have their preferred dealer come to their home or place of business, pick up their vehicle for a repair, and then get it dropped back off once that service is complete. In the event that a lighter repair or routine maintenance needs to be completed, Ford dealers can send a mobile service van to their location and perform that work on the spot. It is worth noting, however, that dealers have the ability to set their own mileage and service limits, so this will vary by location. Also, the program is voluntary, which means that not all dealers will be participating, though the services are complimentary.

This is so popular because Ford can’t park your car on the lot for a week before they week on it even though you made a service appt. All you did was make an appt to have it parked on their lot for a week.
Secondly the issue with the website is even though you make the appt online and you get confirmation of your appt pick up the dealer has no idea an appt was ever made. Ford’s software doesn’t even talk to the dealer you just made the appt with.
This is the level of software incompetence I expect from the same people that promise BlueCruise updates but never deliver them.
HEY JOHN…. All of the above comments are 100% Dead On!!! The Level of “Software Incompetence” is BEYOND STUPID. We still have BlueCruise Software 1.0 in our 2022 Problematic F-150???? What the Heck is going on with these Wing Nuts???
