Christmas is a mere one week away at this point – as most are well aware by now, given the prevalence of decorations, celebrations, parades, and other festive activities that have been taking place for a while now. In the past, The Blue Oval has made it a point to celebrate the holiday in more ways than one, and various Ford vehicles have also appeared in plenty of Christmas-related commercials, TV shows, and movies, too. Now, FoMoCo is doing precisely that once again, this time, by revealing a new “concept” dubbed the Ford Ranger Raptor North Edition.
The one-off Ford Ranger Raptor North Edition was designed in a collaboration between Ford Design in Australia and “Kris Kringle,” otherwise known as Santa Claus. It touts some interesting features, including a tailgate-mounted grille, an “infinity load box,” heated hot chocolate holders, and a new micro-sized rocket engine that’s powered entirely by candy canes, which makes it perfect for those that need to deliver gifts to millions across the globe in a single night.
In addition to those features, the Ford Ranger Raptor North Edition also comes equipped with sealed doors and a roof port for entry and exit, an enhanced “FORD” grille that uses “Unobtanium” to ensure that heat and friction don’t vaporize it when the pickup is traveling at 99 percent the speed of light, the Levacar Mach 1 levitation system, retractable wings, and a gingerbread crumb SYNC infotainment system. As one might imagine, however, such a concept will likely never become a reality. According to Ford, it expects to put the Ranger Raptor North Edition into production “sometime never,” noting that it’s merely “a figment of the Ford communication teams’ imagination.”
“From all of us at Ford Motor Company, we’d like to wish each one of you a happy holidays, and a big thanks to Kris for trusting us with this project; I’m sure we’ll be cleaning mince pie crumbs out of Kirby’s computer for months,” said Max Wolff, design director, China, and International Markets Group.

Doesn’t Ford have enough problems without engaging in this BS.
Jaguar did the same thing. Showing us these obnoxious “concept/dream vehicles” instead of selling us a product we actually want at a price we want to buy it at.
