We see our fair share of automotive accidents occur on a regular basis – if not in real life during the old morning commute, then via many dash cam videos posted across the internet – many of which occur simply because people aren’t paying attention. This is especially true when it comes to red light runners, folks who just keep on tooling along at speed, assuming that a light is green or yellow when in fact, it isn’t. This can be a major problem when something like a Ford Ranger – as is the case in this video – isn’t following the law, as we can clearly see here.

In this video recently posted on Instagram by the page Dashcam Nation, we get a first-person view of a white vehicle that’s approaching an intersection in Bedford, Texas. We can see as the light turns yellow in their direction, but clearly, the Ford Ranger driver coming from the other direction does not, as they don’t even bother to slow down – until it’s too late, at least. Rather, the red Ford Ranger continues to drive through the intersection, at which point it’s rammed by the oncoming vehicle.
The resulting collision caused severe damage to both vehicles, as one would expect, and the driver of the Ford pickup was obviously found to be completely at fault. Unfortunately, this type of incident isn’t exactly uncommon, and seems to happen all the time these days – in many cases, due to the fact that drivers are distracted or just failing to pay attention. It’s also part of the reason Ford has long been working on various ways that would presumably help prevent red light accidents from occurring, in this case, by leaning on vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communication tech.

Red light running a-holes are everywhere. Just a matter of time before people start dying if it hasn’t started already. Cameras needed on lights and tickets mailed and fines collected. Take away licenses and plates. This is a disgrace.
