Ford Super Duty Smashes Into Chevy, Causing Chain Reaction

With dash cams becoming quite common these days, we’re seeing more and more crash videos posted across the internet and social media on a daily basis. Pretty much every one of those videos displays an accident that could have been avoided, as the vast majority are caused by distracted or intoxicated drivers, people that ignore red lights and stop signs, or those that simply aren’t paying attention to what’s going on around them. That’s also the case with this recent clip showing a Ford Super Duty (which appears to be an F-550) blowing through a red light and smashing into a Chevy van.

We get a front row seat to this action courtesy of the dash cam mounted in a semi truck that’s behind the Chevy van as it travels through an intersection, attempting to make a right into the left lane. However, the Ford Super Duty driver – who has what appears to be a heavy load of something in the rear – clearly doesn’t see the red light or the bright red van, because it continues through the intersection at high speed, smashing into the side of the Bow Tie van and causing it to spin all the way around.

As if that wasn’t enough of a scene, the van suddenly accelerates and proceeds to smash into the side of the semi truck, too. If we had to guess, we’d say that this was likely caused by a mechanical issue stemming from the crash itself, or perhaps the driver’s foot accidentally floored it after the collision. Either way, the Ford Super Duty driver’s negligence here led to some serious carnage.

Of course, we’ve seen our fair share of crashes that stem from running red lights over the years. Earlier this month, we came across a Ford Ranger that got t-boned after doing precisely that same thing, as well as another Super Duty that wound up on its side after a driver blew through a red light, too.
