The Ford Authority Take
The Ford Transit remains far and away the sales leader in its competitive set, a spot it has proudly held since launching over a decade years ago. The drop in sales during Q3 2024 is likely the result of availability, the timing of large orders, and seasonal factors that play into those two categories.
Even better news is that combined sales of the Transit and the E-Series gives The Blue Oval nearly half of all segment sales, while crosstown rival GM is in second place with the Chevy Express and GMC Savana, though over 18K units behind. That relegates Ford’s other competitor, the Ram ProMaster, to third, albeit less than 1K units behind GM.
