The Ford Authority Take

Lincoln Corsair sales slipped a spot to place sixth in the competitive set, lagging the segment average. We attribute the drop to suboptimal inventory levels of the small luxury crossover, as production took a huge dip in July before rebounding in August.

The good news is that the Corsair still outsold crosstown rival Cadillac XT4 but remained well behind the Buick Envision. Combining sales of those models kept GM in second place overall. However the XT4 is dead after just one generation, in spite of receiving a refresh for the 2024 model year. Meanwhile, the first-ever 2025 Acura ADX recently made its debut. It will indirectly compete with the Corsair, slotting below the Acura RDX.

Notably, the future of the Corsair is unclear. Production of the model at the Louisville Assembly plant is now expected to end in 2025. However, Lincoln may consider doing what The Blue Oval did with the redesigned 2024 and newer Lincoln Nautilus – building the Corsair elsewhere, such as China, and then importing it into the U.S.

About Lincoln Corsair

The 2024 Lincoln Corsair is unchanged from the refreshed 2023 Corsair.

The 2025 Lincoln Corsair arrives largely unchanged from the 2023 update, but ditches Active Park Assist 2.0 and drops two paint colors, while adding two new colors – Crystal White and Harbor Gray.

  1. There is no shortages for Corsairs on dealers lots, they have plenty. Production is not the reason for the slipping sale. Lack of incentives are the reason and Lincoln needs to be more active promoting their products and sending current owners private offers to keep sales going.

  2. 55k for a Reserve with the same equipment as my four year old one that stickered at 43k. Price itself out of my budget. That’s why they are on the lots.
