PC Mag Names Ford Top EV Automaker For 2024

Ford has dialed back its all-electric ambitions quite a bit as of late, whether that be trimming investments, ditching plans to launch certain models, or scaling down production of existing products. These moves are being made as the automaker faces soft global demand for its EVs, as well as stiff competition from many other automakers. However, it seems as if the currently-limited Ford EV lineup is good enough for owners, who named The Blue Oval as their very favorite maker of electric vehicles in a recent poll.

This poll was conducted by PC Mag, which asked 1,126 of its readers what their favorite EV and hybrid manufacturers are, as well as which charging networks they prefer. After crunching those numbers, Ford came out on top in the electric vehicle space, interestingly enough, even though it only sells two EVs in the U.S. at the moment – the Ford F-150 Lightning and the Ford Mustang Mach-E, though it also has a few more on sale on other parts of the world.

“Ford only makes two all-electric consumer vehicles: The F-150 Lightning, and Mustang Mach E – both of which are highly rated by people who own them,” PC Mag noted of this selection. “Both cars earn excellent scores for ease of use, service and repairs, driving assistance, and likelihood to be recommended.” Ford ranked ahead of Hyundai, Chevy, Tesla, Nissan, and Kia on this particular list, and also came in fourth in overall satisfaction among hybrid and EV owners, behind BMW, Lexus, and Toyota.

This is obviously great news for The Blue Oval, which has faced its fair share of challenges in the EV market as of late. Along with ditching plans to build and sell a pair of all-electric three-row crossovers, the next-generation F-150 EV was recently pushed back to 2027, and production of the new Explorer and Capri EV models in Europe has also been scaled back amid weak demand, too.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. Not that PC Mag is that much of a big deal considering, this is just the type of encouragement that Farley DOESN’T need.
