Ram Driver ‘Secures’ Ford F-150 STX To Flatbed: Video

When there’s two trucks to move and only one driver, there’s only one option: load one of the pickups onto a flatbed, lock it down, and hit the road. When doing so, however, it’s advisable to securely strap the transported vehicle to the transporter, unlike the driver of this Ram, who lashed a Ford F-150 STX down on his flatbed with little more than improperly placed ratchet straps.

The video of this Ford F-150 STX and its questionable transportation surfaced on social media, and the cameraman recorded the scene in Texas. Right away, the video captures what appears to be a single ratchet strap holding the rear end of the truck down. Said strap isn’t even threaded through the wheels, where it should be – it’s fastened over the bed and tacked down on either side of the pickup.

A similar implement is present across the hood as well, and as if that’s not bad enough, it doesn’t appear that there’s any padding between the strap itself and the paint, which can’t be good for the pickup’s looks. At least they made an attempt to secure the front wheels, although the parties involved chose to attach a knot of more ratchet straps to the bottom of the front wheels, along with a chain somewhere in the mess. In short, there’s really nothing keeping the Ford F-150 STX from rolling backward and right off that trailer but sheer luck.

There are plenty of correct ways to attach a vehicle to a trailer, and this isn’t one of them. A short tutorial video would have saved this Ford F-150 STX from scratched paint and the headache of trying to make sure it stays locked down to the bed. In this case, the cameraman is smart and quickly makes the pass, and we can’t blame him. We wouldn’t want to be traveling behind that pickup when it falls off, either. But, hey, at least it’s in better shape than the Ford Super Duty that smashed through a restaurant drive-through.
