The last U.S.-market Ford Taurus rolled off the assembly line at the Ford Chicago Assembly Plant on March 1st, 2019. Even though the real-life sedan has been discontinued, we now have a digitally rendered glimpse of what the sedan might have looked like in 2024 – not just as a next-generation model, but as a sporty police interceptor.
Posted to a Facebook community called AI Automotive Art, the images show three different variants loosely based on the Ford Taurus. The first (above) bears a striking resemblance to the seventh-generation Ford Mustang, just with four doors instead of two, and some wide rear fenders. It features slim headlights with LED accents and a (slightly misshaped) Ford oval set within a five-point grille. There’s even a semblance of an ST logo on the lower part of the grille, though it doesn’t actually say ST. It’s vaguely recognizable as a Taurus, borrowing its headlights directly from the refreshed Taurus that was exclusively released in China.
The second model borrows heavily from the Ford Crown Victoria, crossed with the Chinese Taurus and the recently-discontinued Lincoln Continental. It features a low-slung, long-nosed profile, and the generous rear spoiler looks lifted right off a race car. The headlights give the ensemble a Ford Falcon FG-like expression, although the side skirts and lower front splitter would certainly not make it to production.
The third Ford Taurus cop car is perhaps the weakest one of the bunch. It bears little resemblance to any Blue Oval model, and looks like it should belong to a BMW lineup with the wide nostrils or a Mercedes with the split front grille. It even appears to sport a Maserati-esque emblem up front. At least the headlights look similar to those of the sixth-gen Mustang, but otherwise, if we saw this one on the street, we wouldn’t think it a Ford at all, despite what the nonsensical wording on its roof lights seem to say.
AI can produce some interesting renderings, and there’s no harm in asking it to render models for the sake of having a visual. However, AI can be used for nefarious purposes to pull a fast one on automotive enthusiasts. Take this completely made up advertisement for the “2025 Ford F-100”, which isn’t even close to being a real thing, or the equally-fake “Elon is acquiring Ford” nonsense.

Very nice, I think the last but two is my favourite, A Wagon would look nice to.
#3 is hideous. The other 2 are nice. #1 is my fav. BUT, calling it a Taurus is fine (if it’s large enough), but calling it a Mustang is NOT.
I also like the 1st photo the best. It reminds me of the later 1980’s when the Minnesota Hwy Patrol had Mustangs as patrol cars and blended right in. Many had only a badge on the passenger side and maybe a light on the RF fender. The crazy local Hwy Patrol even put a rag doll in the back window. Several other states used the Mustang in those days for patrol.
And, we sure don’t want it called Mustang or even a Mach E or anything near that name.
That’s because a 4 door Mustang sedan is coming.
first one is too fat second one is good and the third one looks like a BMW
