The Ford Maverick has been an incredibly popular vehicle since the moment it launched for the 2022 model year, with buyers scooping up the compact pickup so fast that it was difficult to find on dealer lots for some time – at least, without some sort of absurd markup attached to its sticker price. Supply and demand for the Ford Maverick has leveled out somewhat as the model just received a refresh for the 2025 model year, but in the meantime, it continues to receive accolades from critics, too.
In fact, the 2023-2024 Ford Maverick just landed on Consumer Reports‘ latest list of the most reliable used pickups one can buy today, based on that organization’s road testing, as well as models that posted above-average reliability scores on owner surveys. In that regard, the 2023-2024 Ford Maverick made the cut when equipped with the EcoBoost powerplant, thanks to the aforementioned reasons, plus its solid fuel economy ratings, towing capability, maneuverability, visibility, easy to use controls, easy to access cabin, and an abundance of safety tech.
As Consumer Reports points out, newer used vehicles such as the 2022-2023 Maverick are smart buys given the fact that they’ve already experienced a good deal of depreciation, yet are new enough that they still have plenty of standard safety and tech features. Additionally, most leases cover three years, meaning that many of this age are turn-ins that have low miles and are more likely to have been treated with care over that time span, too, with scheduled maintenance completed as prescribed, to boot.
This isn’t the first time the Ford Maverick has been recognized for its reliability, either. In fact, the Ford Maverick EcoBoost landed on Consumer Reports‘ list of the most reliable new vehicles priced under $30k back in late 2023, and at that time, was the only pickup to do so. Back in January, the Maverick was also among CR‘s most reliable used pickups, and this past September, was once again named a reliable choice of new vehicles that cost less than $30k as well.

Well that’s good news because they just recalled 400,000 of their other trucks. Looks like they are going to lead the nation in recalls, again….
how did it make CR’s list when the battery constantly goes dead on the hybrid? I am on my third battery and the dealer says everything is ok . it’s a 2023 with 3500 miles
It literally says it’s for the ecoboost.
Exactly. I may trade my hybrid in for one.
i haven’t trusted CR in decades.. not going to start now
