2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty 7.3L V8 Crate Engine Now Available

Back in June 2020, Ford added the then-new 7.3L V8 Godzilla powerplant to its list of available crate engines, which was great news for folks that appreciate a good old fashioned pushrod V8. Roughly two years later, it was joined by a complete Godzilla powertrain package that includes not only the engine itself, but also, a control pack, a Ford Performance calibration, a FEAD kit, and a production Ford Super Duty 10R140 transmission and torque converter, transmission cooler, shifter and cable assembly, and mounting hardware. Now, the updated 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty 7.3L V8 Godzilla crate engine has joined the Ford Performance catalog, too.

The new 2024 Ford F-250 Super Duty 7.3L V8 crate engine is now available in the Ford Performance catalog under part number M-6007-73B with a retail price of $8,900. It consists of a cast iron block with aluminum cylinder heads, a forged steel crank, cast aluminum pistons, 10.5:1 compression, port fuel injection, a composite intake, an 87mm throttle body, exhaust manifolds, ignition coils and wires, and a production flex plate. The crate engine features the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the 4.6L V8, 5.4L V8, and 5.0L V8 Coyote powerplants, and comes in a shipping and storage crate.

Output for this particular engine is 430 horsepower and 485 pound-feet of torque. However, the crate offering doesn’t come with a starter, FEAD kit, or A/C add-on kit, nor a control pack. All of those components are available from Ford Performance, however.

For those that covet more power, Ford also sells the 7.3L V8 in “Megazilla” guise, too. Though it costs a whopping $22,995, the Megazilla comes as a long block with coils, plug wires, spark plugs, an oil pan, and an engine wiring harness, along with a performance camshaft, a steel crank, Mahle forged 10.5:1 compression pistons, Callies H-beam forged connecting rods, CNC ported aluminum cylinder heads, a low profile intake manifold, and a 92mm throttle body, all of which results in an output of 615 horsepower and 638 pound-feet of torque on pump gas.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. One of very best things Ford has done. in a while..made a simple engine again….while it mabe had some growing pains…its a great start…hope they make it option in the F 150 ..even Mustang,,, it small for its size and package easy…not the complex turbo charged..over head cam engine….

    1. Not going to happen in either, the Coyote is Ford’s small RWD platform engine for the most part. The only way they end up in the F150 and Mustang is when somebody swaps them in.

  2. Ford needs to stop beating around the bush, and make this an option on every truck and SUV, or anything else it will fit in. All of GM’s trucks have more than 1 engine option including diesel. This would be a great option in any truck.
