2025 Ford Bronco Factory Matte Clear Film: Option Spotlight

Matte paint has become increasingly popular over the last few years, prompting The Blue Oval to introduce its own version of a satin finish in the form of a factory installed matte clear film option. Buyers of the seventh-generation Ford Mustang were the first to have the option made available to them, and now, the 2025 Ford Bronco joins the list as the second model with a matte clear film on the order books.

The matte clear film, which is covered by Ford’s manufacturer warranty, offers several benefits to the 2025 Ford Bronco. Not only does it grant a sleek matte finish to almost any color, it provides protection for the rugged off-road SUV’s exterior paint. Offered up for $4,995, the matte clear film is offered on the Big Bend, Outer Banks, and Badlands trims; it’s not able to added to the 2025 Bronco Base, Stroppe Edition, Raptor, or Heritage models.

It’s also not able to be added to the Bronco in conjunction with the Free Wheeling Package, Black Appearance Package, or Paint Protection Film. The Body Appearance Kit and Sasquatch Graphics Package is also incompatible with the matte clear film.

Aside from the addition of the unique matte clear film, the 2025 Ford Bronco features several other changes and updates compared to the 2024 model year off-road SUV. This includes the return of the entry level Base trim, while the Black Diamond (which has become an optional package for the Big Bend), Wildtrak, Everglades, and Heritage Limited Edition have all been deleted. In spite of those omissions, the Free Wheeling Package has joined the lineup, which adds gradient stripes and other unique retro touches to the Big Bend trim.

Demand for the Ford Bronco has waned since the revived off-road pony was introduced several years ago. As such, The Blue Oval elected to keep its price point steady for the 2025 model year, starting at $37,995 for the Bronco Base, not including destination freight charges (DFC).

  1. “Demand for the Ford Bronco has waned since the revived off-road pony was introduced several years ago.” It was re-introduced in 2021, which is 4 years ago. I don’t consider 4 years ago to be several years ago.

  2. Maybe the demand has waned because the price went through the roof. I know I sound like a broken record, but I live for this.
