2025 Ford Mustang Dark Horse Packages Outlined And Explained

Fully track-capable while maintaining street legality, the 2025 Ford Mustang Dark Horse represents the best stock in the seventh-generation Mustang line. While it’s saddled with plenty of upgrades that set it apart from the rest of the Mustang range, there are a few optional packages that make the Mustang Dark Horse a hot-to-trot contender. Today, Ford Authority rounds up all those bundles, including their content, pricing, and how to get them.

Deluxe Package (700A Equipment Group)

The 2025 Ford Mustang Dark Horse line is comprised of the “regular” Dark Horse and the upgraded Dark Horse Premium. The Dark Horse Premium gets the Deluxe Package, identifiable as the 700A equipment group, which ups the overall cost of the high-performance pony from $66,670 to $71,665, including destination and acquisition charges. The Deluxe Package bundles all content available in the “regular” Dark Horse (600A equipment group), plus the following:

  • Aluminum Foot Pedals
  • Approach Detection with Welcome/Farewell Exterior Lighting
  • Climate Controlled (Heated and Cooled; Driver and Front-Passenger only)
    • Note: Not available with Recaro Sport Seats (21N)
  • Memory: Driver Seat (three settings) and Mirrors with Integrated Turn Signals
    • Note: Not available with Recaro Sport Seats (21N)
  • Universal Garage Door Opener (UGDO)
  • Premier Trim with Color Accent Group
    • Accent Stitched Center Console Lid and Shifter Boot
    • Color-accented Seats
    • Unique Color-accented Door-Trim
  • Security Package
    • Active Anti-Theft System
    • Locking Center Console
    • Wheel Locking Kit

Dark Horse Handling Package

Offered on both the 2025 Ford Mustang Dark Horse and Mustang Dark Horse Premium, the Dark Horse Handling Package (option code 67P) is a $5,495 upgrade that enhances the pony car’s handling, along with some aesthetic touches. Content included in this package is as follows:

  • Dark Horse Handling Package
    • 19-inch X 10.5-inch (Front) 19-inch X 11-inch (Rear) Tarnished Dark Painted Aluminum Wheels with 305/30R19 (Front) 315/30R19 (Rear) Tires
    • Adjustable Strut Top Mounts
    • Front Towing Hooks
    • Magnetic Damping System
    • Performance Front Aero Splitter
      • Note: Placed in vehicle for installation post-sale
    • Performance Rear Spoiler with Gurney Flap – Painted Shadow Black
    • Revised Chassis Tuning

Security Package

The Security Package (option code 97B) is a $500 option on the 2025 Mustang Dark Horse, and included as part of the 700A Deluxe Package that defines the Mustang Dark Horse Premium. This bundles the following:

  • Active Anti-Theft System
  • Electronic-Locking Center Console
  • Wheel Locking Kit

Dark Horse Appearance Package

Offered exclusively on the Mustang Dark Horse Premium, the Dark Horse Appearance Package is an exterior accent package offered in conjunction with the 700A equipment group. It’s only available with Blue Ember Metallic, Vapor Blue Metallic, or Shadow Black exterior paint. This package, which costs $2,495, includes the following:

  • Additional Blue Accents -Seats
  • Black Painted Roof
    • Note: Not included if Custom Hood and Accent Stripe is also ordered.
  • Unique Brake Calipers – Notorious Blue Painted with Grabber Blue Logo
  • Unique Hood Graphic

Note that when the Dark Horse Appearance Package is selected with Matte Clear Film, the Unique Hood Graphic is not included.

The 2025 Ford Mustang range carries on with minor changes and updates. It does, however, move on from four exterior colors that were previously offered, although it did add a new one called Molten Magenta.

  1. S650 is selling so bad that not only is the Mach-E out selling it but the Dark Horse is the first time I remember a Top Trim Mustang in its first year easily had for under MSRP by thousands. In my area since like 2000 Bullitt, Cobra, Mach1’s, Boss, Shelby, all commanded markups for at least it’s first 12-18 months. Yet for months now I’ve been seeing Dark Horses for thousands of already, and many already traded in.
    Even with no new Camaro or Challenger no one seems to want the S650.
