The all-new Ford Ranger Wildtrak X debuted back in March 2023 as something of a middle-ground offering between the off-road-focused Wildtrak and the ultra high-performance Ranger Raptor. However, it – along with the Everest Wildtrak – strangely disappeared from the Australian lineup in 2024, which could be due to the fact that Ford was having a hard time keeping up with tremendous demand for both models early on. However, as Ford Authority reported yesterday, the Everest Wildtrak is returning to the Australian market for 2025, and that’s also the case with the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X.
This news comes to us from CarExpert, which reports that deliveries of the 2025 Ford Ranger Wildtrak X will begin in Australia in Q1 2025, though only 750 examples will be sold in that country for the current model year. It’s also $1,650 more expensive than before, with a starting price of $77,640, but it has gained a couple of new features in the form of a 400W power inverter in the rear console,, as well as the Pro Trailer Backup Assist feature, which its predecessor lacked.
Otherwise, the Ford Ranger Wildtrak X remains unchanged from before. On the outside, the pickup features a unique front grille with integrated driving lights and Cyber Orange accents, Wildtrak X badging and lettering on the hood, black front and rear Blue Oval badges, cast aluminum side steps, a steel bash plate, and an Asphalt Black grille surround, bumper H-bar, wheel-lip moldings, fender vents, mirror caps, door handles, and rear bumper. Out back, Ford’s new Flexible Rack System comes standard and features a sliding load rack and folding roof racks to carry additional cargo.
Inside the cabin, the Wildtrak X sports unique features such as leather seats with Miko suede trim and Wildtrak X embroidery, with Terra suede present on the glovebox, instrument cluster, and door trim. Finally, Cyber Orange contrast stitching is present on the seats, steering wheel, gear shifter, doors, and the upper glovebox, while the auxiliary switch pack is standard equipment.
The Ford Ranger Wildtrak X features a 30mm wider track than the standard mid-size pickup, as well as 26mm more ground clearance, which helps make room for a set of unique 17-inch wheels wrapped in 265/70 R17 General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tires. Underneath, the Wildtrak X has been fitted with Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, while seven drive modes – Normal, Eco, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Mud/Ruts, Sand, and Rock Crawl – are available, along with Trail Turn Assist and Trail Control. Power comes exclusively from the bi-turbo 2.0L four-cylinder diesel, which generates 201 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque and is mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission.
